IMPACT
Learn how HopeBridge delivers practical help to children and families in Cuba directly through trusted local churches and Christian leaders serving their communities every day.
Brief introduction
HopeBridge works alongside local churches and Christian leaders in Cuba to deliver direct support to children and families in need. Through these partnerships, real needs are identified and addressed in a personal, responsible, and transparent way within the communities where help is most urgent.
Through this model, every contribution becomes practical assistance that strengthens both the material well-being and the spiritual encouragement of the people served.
Impact on local communities
HopeBridge is already bringing support to several communities in Havana by working in a partnership with local churches committed to serving children, families and the elderly in vulnerable situations.
History 1 - First Baptist Church "Getsemaní" of Regla (Havana)
In the Regla community of Havana, HopeBridge collaborates with Pastor Jorge Duquezne and Lila, leader of the children's ministry , at the First Baptist Church of Regla, a local church deeply commited to serving its neighborhood. Through this partnership, aid reaches children and families directly in their own homes , providing timely support to those who need it most.
Thanks to this joint effort:
-
Children receive milk to support healthy nutrition at home
-
Breakfast is provided during children's ministry activities at the church
-
Children participate in spaces for spiritual guidance and community care
-
Vulnerable families receive essential food packages based on their most urgent needs
Many of these families include elderly couples and low-income households facing serious difficulties accessing basic food supplies.
In addition, every Saturday church volunteers dedicate part of their time to supporting the children's ministry, helping with both activities: food preparation and distribution. Their commitment makes it possible for this support to reach each family with care, organization, and love.
Although simple in appearance, this type of assistance represents meaningful help and brings relief and hope to families facing daily challenges in accessing basic food.
Below we share some photos and videos that show some of the help that is reaching children and families in Regla through joint work with the local church:

History 2 - "Jerusalem" Baptist Church of Diezmero (Havana)
The aid is reaching families in need directly in the Diezmero community.
Through partnership with Pastor Daumier Montero and the “Jerusalem” Baptist Church in El Diezmero (Havana), HopeBridge is helping deliver food directly to families facing urgent needs — many of them households with children and elderly members.
Accessing basic food is often difficult in this community. It frequently requires traveling long distances between different markets to find essential items. However, when support becomes available, Pastor Daumier quickly organizes the purchase and delivery of food directly to the families who need it most.
This effort reflects the church’s deep commitment to serving its community and allows timely assistance to reach vulnerable households.
Your support helps make this direct assistance possible for families in El Diezmero.

Story 3 - "Casa Fortaleza" Church (Habana Nueva, Guanabacoa)
In the Habana Nueva neighborhood, in the municipality of Guanabacoa (Havana), the "Casa Fortaleza" Church meets on the terrace of Sister Martha's home, a space prepared with effort and dedication to serve as a meeting place for this small congregation.
Missionary Ania López , who lives in Regla, walks several kilometers each week to accompany and support this work, serving especially children, teenagers and the elderly in a community marked by significant material and family needs.
Every weekend, between 15 and 20 children and teenagers participate in activities where they receive instruction in Christian values, support, and meals such as breakfasts, snacks, and, on special occasions, lunches . For many of them, this support represents significant help in their daily lives.
Thanks to support made possible through HopeBridge, this church continues to be a point of practical and spiritual hope for families in the community.
